                           Success through Self-Employment

America's 10.6 million women-owned businesses employ 19.1 million people and contribute $2.5 trillion in sales - yet women continue to face unique obstacles in the world of business.  Women business owners lag behind their male counterparts in obtaining access to much-needed resources, capital, and information.

Women’s Enterprise promotes the growth of women-owned
businesses through programs that offer business counseling, mentoring, training and technical, financial, and procurement assistance.  We are helping unprecedented numbers of women start and build successful businesses. At every stage of developing and expanding a successful business, Women’s Enterprise is here to counsel, teach, encourage and inspire women to succeed.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to promote economic development through entrepreneurial assistance and advocacy for women.

Our vision is to provide women and men, including those who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged, with the knowledge and expertise to make informed decisions and take actions to improve their overall financial positions in life.

A Place to Turn Your Dreams into Reality

Our uniqueness is due to the following:

We are the first SBA-funded Women’s Business Center in the state of Indiana (part of a strong national network of 86 WBC’s throughout the United States).

We have been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally as a viable resource for business development. In 2002 alone, we were honored with the Women & Work outstanding leadership award; the Delta Sigma Theta sorority award for economic development; and invited to present at the national SBA Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO) Training in Washington, DC.

We consistently strive to offer the best in business counseling (where experienced and qualified staff work one-on-one with clients); mentoring (where knowledge experts are recruited to provide specific guidance and services to clients at no cost); and training (where clients are afforded the opportunity to hone much-needed skills in a variety of business areas – accounting, legal, insurance, taxes, record-keeping, to name a few). As of 2007, we have served more than 6,500 clients and count over 550 business success stories.

We believe in strong collaborations and partnerships with other non-profit organizations as well as for-profit businesses.  These critical relationships allow us to streamline efforts while optimizing results.
