Experience the Art and Flavor of Paris
Young entrepreneur, Shanan Fultz, opened the French doors to Sophie’s Crepe Bistro in November of 2002. Shanan is a client who came to Women’s Enterprise for business plan, marketing and general exposure assistance. Fortunately, Sophie’s is located in an exclusive shopping center here in Fort Wayne called Jefferson Pointe. A joint effort from multiple SBA funded resources namely Women’s Enterprise resulted in an 80-page business plan, which resulted in Shanan acquiring the start-up and operating capital needed for her unique restaurant which serves European hand held meal and dessert crepe made to order right before your eyes on crepe grills imported from France.
Shanan is an entrepreneur who prepared for this new venture by visiting Paris, rubbing shoulders with some of the finest French connoisseurs in the business. Shanan has extensive knowledge in the various types of French waters, sodas and lemonades that are available and also features numerous types at her bistro. She welcomes questions in an area where many restaurateurs wouldn’t even consider exploring. Since opening, Shanan has joined the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce and has even been a guest speaker at a Women’s Enterprise workshop entitled “Don’t Shop ‘Til Your Credit Drops.”
Immediately, the opening of Sophie’s generated employment for six individuals, both part-time and full-time. Shanan encourages all her employees to grow and progress. She stays abreast of the latest marketing and advertising trends by attending workshops sponsored by Women’s Enterprise and other SBA funded resources and actively taking advantage of all the perks organization such as the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce has to offer.
