| Natalie Niswander LCSW was born in Fort Wayne Indiana and raised in nearby Huntington. After a bachelor’s degree in social work at Manchester College, she completed her MSW through Indiana University in 1988. She worked for two years at an inpatient psychiatric unit after graduation and did three years of medical social work with dialysis and cardiac patients before her interest in working with children and families led her to three years as a therapist at Crossroad Children’s home. During this period she became increasingly aware of the impact of addiction upon individuals and families working towards stability, and expanded her knowledge in this area. Since then she has worked in behavioral health settings providing addiction counseling and individual, child and family therapy. She has extensive experience working with survivors of abuse and women’s issues. |
