Emily Hallgren received degrees in Spanish and Peace Studies from Manchester College in May 2008. She is passionate about violence prevention and nonviolent conflict resolution on the societal and interpersonal levels, and is excited to be working in a program focusing on youth violence prevention. Prior to working with the FWWB, Emily was able to employ her Spanish skills working with the Migrant Education Program providing summer education to migrant workers in Indiana. She sees this position as Crisis Intervention/ Outreach Specialist as a perfect combination of her interest in both social services and women and gender issues. She plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in either Social Work or Women and Gender Studies. |
