Amanda Nichols joined the FWWB in 2008 as a Child Case Manager at Transitions. She earned her BS in Counseling Psychology and Sociology from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. She also holds an MA in Community Counseling and Social Psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Amanda’s passion is working with at-risk youth and she has training in Play Therapy, Advanced Youth Development, and Disaster Relief. She enjoys volunteering as a Disaster Mental Health Counselor and Client Caseworker for the American Red Cross and was deployed to Mississippi to assist during Hurricane Katrina. She recently moved to Fort Wayne after working as a Youth Advocate Counselor at an alternative high school in NYC. Amanda also has past work experiences related to women’s addictions, family home-based services, and parent education. She is currently focused on becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and enjoys spending time with her family. She looks forward to working with this unique and challenging population. |
